#5 Late Model Stockcar
-Former Nascar Southwest Tour and Whelen racecar
Chassis: Coil over perimeter, ’94 portcity three link rear suspension road race setup. Suspension geometry analyzed and adjusted using dynamic simulation software. AFCO shocks, adjustable ball joints (upper & lower).
Body: 99 Monte Carlo, fiberglass, lightweight hood & roof.
Drivetrain: Jerico road race 4 speed transmission, long slide bar shifter (recent overhaul). 5.5” 3 disc clutch, Q.M. mag. low ground clearance bell housing, Winters heavy duty rear end, Detroit locker.
Brakes: Dual master cylinder (low mount), Wilwood 4 piston calipers, 11 7/8” x 1” rotors, fluid recirculator, dual cooling ducts (front), driver adjustable bias.
Engine: Chevy 358 C.I. lightened block, de-stroked 400, 4.165” bore by 3.00” stroke, Weber billet crank, Oliver rods, J&E pistons, 9.5 to 1 compression, Jesel belt drive cam, Jesel rockers, dry sump, 9000 RPM+, approx. 600 HP with 950 CFM carb, 4” exhaust with x-pipe racemate alternator, MSD ignition with ford style distributor cap.
Safety: Butler seat, M&R belts, door plates, fire ext. nozzles in cockpit, engine bay & fuel cell, brake lights.
Misc: Radio harness installed, wide rear view mirror, K&N air filter.
Comments: Very fast racecar, has done 58 second laps at Firebird Main (without chicane), minute flat with chicane. Well built, very dependable & handles great.
Needs: Oil temperature gauge.
Legal for ProAutosports GTO class, ASC Unlimited class, NASA Superunlimited & Super Touring, SCCA Super Production.
