Description
426 c.i. MAX WEDGE racing engine, with stage II cylinder heads. Stainless steel valves, bronze guides, P.C. seals, double valve springs, titanium retainers. Heads were virgin, and have only one (1) valve job done on them since new.
Minimal surface cut (.006) to tru-up. The cross-ram intake side has never been cut, nor has it ever been cut apart or modified or machined in any way. All the plugs and linkage has been flashed chromed. A match set of "race-Hemi" Holley's, 770 c.f.m., with brass needle and seats. Isky pushrod and a custom made set of Harland Sharp roller rocker arms.
Presently an Erson camshaft is installed with 727 lift. The short block is a 440 c.i., that has been over-bored .030 and has Jahns pistons which are 12.5-1 compression, block has been decked, but not to minimum. Rods have been bushed with floating pins. Crankshaft is forged steel. Entire assembly has been magnafluxed and balanced to within a quarter gram weight and balanced "wet". Freeze out plugs have been replaced with cast iron threaded pipe plugs. Oiling system is a twin pick-up Milidon dry sump, with a "dragster" style, 10 quart capacity.
Motor runs 9:05 at over 145 mph, in a 2450# car, at only 7200 rpm's. It needs minor freshing up which would be valve springs and timing chain and gears. Will not separate any parts, must be bought complete. This is no junk, the best of everything. |
