Low Mileage, Original Tiger for Restoration Factory Tiger-Authenticated Alpine Parts Car Available VIN: 89470601LRXFE Mileage: Color Blue/Dk Blue Interior Engine: 289 V8 Trans: Options: Loads of Very Good Condition Parts Condition: Restoration Project
1966 Sunbeam TIGER V8 project for restoration. Vin# 89470601LRXFE Original Tiger needing restoration. Originally light blue, now Blue with Dark Blue Interior. May have racing history- but unverified. Engine: Ford V8. 4 barrel carb. Trans: 4spd manual. ( Rear: believed to be original Ford rear. Body: Upper body is in fair to good condition, with bondo present. Car is coming out of 20+ year storage, with lots of underbody rust damage. Rust holes present and underbody rust and rust-through in places. I am selling a 1963 Sunbeam Alpine GT without drivetrain with very solid body that is available for $1800. Tiger parts are carefully boxed and ready to ship. A worthwhile restoration candidate for street or track. Note that many vintage racing organizations will allow `rebodying` a Tiger, using a verified Tiger donor car that has significant damage (with the extensive underbody rust on this Tiger-it should qualify). Of course, a clean, low rust Alpine is the obvious car to work with. Rebodied Tigers can bring close to the price of real Tigers in racing and track car applications, from 2 experts I consulted. Our local vintage race group has offered to inspect this car for this purpose. The Pacific Tiger Club has inspected the car for authenticity and has been added to the Tiger Registry database.
