Cryogenic processing has shown to improve the strength, wear resistance and heat dissipation properties of many automotive components. Cryogenic treatment is a great way to strengthen engine blocks, rear end and transmission gears, axles, and any other component that may wear or run the risk of failure.

Brake components including rotors are treated for the superior heat dissipation properties, benefits include a reduction in cracks and vibrations as well as increased wear life and improved stopping power. Because cryogenic treatment changes the microstructure to an even and aligned composition, items are less likely to crack due to the elimination of the cracks probable origin. Cryogenically treated spark plugs have demonstrated an increase of 9-25 horsepower on a V-8 racing engine in a controlled environment; this is due to the enhanced conductive properties cryogenic treatment of metals provides.

Cajun Cryogenics uses CE certified computer controlled cryogenic freezers in the process. We bring the temperature of the item down to 316 below zero and hold that temp for an extended amount of time. After the process residual stresses from the manufacturing process are relived and the microstructure of the item is aligned. Additionally cryogenic processing allows for heat to dissipate evenly, making it perfect for items that retain heat regularly. Steels get an another benefit by continuing the heat treatment process by transforming any remaining retained austenite in to the stronger martensite crystalline structure up to 99.8%.
