Here is a description of my Grady White: The boat is 26 feet long, with a 10 foot beam. It is a very stable boat! For those that know boats they know the quality & craftsmanship of a Grady White, one of the best boats ever made. Each & every Grady White is made by hand by master boatbuilders and craftsman. I bought this boat from an old man in the fall of 2002, although the boat was in very good condition and seaworthy, there were something's I didn't care for. The electronics were the old style larance system way to complicated for a guy like me. I had the system and the transducers removed and replaced with a garmin system very user friendly. The unit has a very large color display and one throughhaul transducer. It is a fishfinder, depthsounder, records water temperature, and speed, it is also a chartplotter with gps. A powerful spotlight was installed with remote control mounted in the helm area, a new windlass winch was installed & a stainless steel danforth anchor with plenty of new anchor line, the winch is also remote controlled from the helm area. Great to be able to drop and lift your anchor right from the driverseat. All of this work was professionally done. Now we will get to the expensive stuff, my insurance man told me 90% of boat accidents are caused by electrical problems so I had the wiring replaced then since I had went that far I thought why not just completely rebuild everything else. So I told them to go ahead and rebuild both engines and outdrives. The engines are twin mercury 470's which are 4 cylinders that put out 170 hp each 340 hp total. There is a 150 gallon fuel tank under the back deck. I had 2 in-line canister fuel filters installed therefore each engine has the stock fuel filters plus a large automotive type in-line canister fuel filter the size of your average oil filter. Clean fuel means less problems! Installed a new top of the line helm seat and pedestal with foot rest, for the drivers comfort of course. The cuddy cab |
